I am Yours

Heavenly Father,
You make me who I’m supposed to be,
what I’m supposed to be,
when I’m supposed to be it.

I know nothing except You love me, and I am Yours.
And, everything I am is because of You.

You make me holy, and I’m thankful.
You make me wise, and I’m thankful.

You make me.
You make me.

Psalm 92:4 For you make me glad by your deeds, LORD;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

Finding the Person of God

Hello blog readers, I’m here to say that I’m blessed by God. I’m abundantly blessed. I’ve been given a heart for Him. He gave it to me, because I didn’t have it before. I didn’t have this heart for Him before. I was a person who believed in Him, but I wasn’t His. I was not.

I was a person who thought I knew God. I believed He heard my prayers, and He did. But I wasn’t living for Him. I was not.

I gave my heart to things. I gave my heart away on many occasions to people, idols, to uncertainty, unforgiveness… to many things. And I was unbothered by it. But, He fixed everything because He wanted me. He gave me a new spirit, and a brand new heart. I will always love Him. I appreciate what He’s done. Before, I had no earthly idea what I was missing out on. Thank you, Jesus.

Don’t ever let anyone say to you that God won’t communicate with you through a dream. There is power in knowing what God has promised.

Acts 2:17 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

I praise You, Father…because I know what I’m experiencing is from You.

I watched a young person riding on a fence in my dream 2 nights ago. When I asked him to get down from the fence, he hopped down for a moment. But, when I looked away, he got back on it… but this time he was further on top of the fence. The fence was leaning because it was unsturdy. It was unsturdy because it was on soft ground. It was metal, and it was rusty. It was made of linked chains. And, the rust made it even weaker. A powerful gust of wind could have easily blown it over. The fence was bending over into a backyard filled with overflowing raw sewage. The ground was soft because it was soaked with wetness from it. The sewage was bubbling up from the ground, and it was the width of a built in swimming pool. The raw sewage wasn’t contained in the parameters of the pool-like fountain that it was flowing from. It was pouring over into the grass, and the everything in the yard was filthy because of the raw sewage. The ground was saturated. To step foot in the yard would guarantee at least the bottom of your feet sinking into the mud, and being contaminated. Anyone who fell in the pool would be fully immersed. It was unimaginable to think what would happen if that person on the fence had fallen over into that pool. The fence was so close to the pool, that if it would have fallen over, the person on it would have fallen into it face-first. And the young person was smiling, because he didn’t understand that what he was straddling was unsafe. He was on the fence. He was on a very unsafe fence, but he didn’t know it. His ignorance and disobedience was very-much like a child’s.

When I woke up, I wanted to know what the dream meant. So, I prayed…and a very specific Word from God spoke from my spirit. It was this:

“Whoever is riding the fence will be included in the fall. Whoever is riding the fence must choose which side they will stand on.”

I paused. The words came from my mouth before I realized how powerful they are. I was amazed, and I was a bit stunned. I wasn’t expecting that at all. I was not.

My heart breaks for whoever is on the fence. Because the fence will be included in the fall. And when the fall happens, the person on the fence will be included.

Joshua 24:15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Acts 2:17-21 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.  I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

**The difference in knowing whether a dream is from God comes by learning His personality. He doesn’t frighten us with nightmares. There is Rest in His Presence. There is nothing unfavorable about Him. He’s abundantly wise and helpful. He’s a Father who gives good things. If a dream fills you with fright, terror, or hopelessness, it is not from  our Father. That’s not who He is. The more you spend time in prayer & fellowship with Him, the more His Wonderful Presence will be before you. Pray to know the Person of God, and this is what I believe will help you determine which dreams are from our Father.

Dear Light,

Jesus, I’m only ‘not blind’ when I’m with You.
You are the light.
If I’m not with You, I’m in the dark.
There are things we do when we’re unaware, that we would never do when we’re informed.
I pray that I’m always abiding in You.
Because if I’m not, I’m in trouble.
John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

Love is who You are

My heart was created by You, for You, and through You.
My heart sings for you.
My poetry comes from you.
My spirit adores you.
Love is who You are.

More of You is what I want.
I’m waiting at Your feet,
To give a precious gift, my God.
My heart is Yours to keep.

Romans 11:36 For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

give me your heart

Humbled by Your Throne

The Lord is good, You are,
and worthy to be praised.
The Precious Lamb of God, You are.
I’ll serve You all my days.

I’ll walk with You, and be Your servant.
I’m humbled by Your Throne.
Your hand is wide, and greatly worth
The privilege to be known.

I’m humbled by Your Throne.
I’m humbled by Your Throne.
I’m humbled by Your wonderful, wonderful Throne.

Thank you Jesus,

Psalm 45:6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

The Sweetest Name

I know a name,
His name is Jesus.
He is the light of the world.
He will love you forever.
He is the light of the world.
He is the Lord.
He forever reigns.
He will give you life.
He gives life to those who believe in Him.
He is worthy of worship.
He is God.
My God.
And He gives me life.
Yes, Amen.

My first sunrise

Hello blog readers! I have the day off, and wanted to sit down with a cup of coffee and just enjoy my alone time with God. He brought to my memory the very first time I saw the sunrise. I will never forget it.

I was in my mid 30’s, and visiting Tucson, Arizona. When I think about it, that sounds almost unbelievable — that I waited until I was in my mid 30’s to care enough to intentionally watch the sunrise. And, I can’t take full responsibility. My mother was with me, and she watches the sunrise everywhere she visits — and I wanted to participate too for the sake of being on a mini-vacation, and spending time with her.

That trip offered another ‘first’ for me. I had never seen mountains like those in Tucson before. The resort that we stayed in was right next to a huge, stone mountain. Just looking at how big the mountain was made me see God in a new way. It was almost breath-taking. I felt how small I was when I was facing that mountain. And when the sun rose over it, it brought tears to my eyes. I could feel something amazing. God made the sun rise over it. It was beautiful.

I’m so thankful for that experience. My first sunrise was well-worth the wait. Any other time, and I might have neglected to see God in the experience. God made an appointment in time for me to witness His majesty. To see the sunrise is a gift. Every day is a gift. He wanted my first experience of watching the sunrise to fully glorify Him. He wanted my heart to know that He can do anything. God is higher than anything we could ever face. He’s the only God who can cause the sun to rise over any mountain.

Psalm 95:4 In whose hand are the depths of the earth, The peaks of the mountains are His also.

we don’t pray

Hello blog readers.. I didn’t intend to write what I’m about to write.. Honestly, I never thought about it in this way before today…

This evening I prayed for things regarding our nation, and world. For the past few months, I’ve committed to praying more – -for others, for myself, for strangers, for whoever/whatever God places on my heart. As I prayed tonight, the Holy Spirit interceded, and totally grieved my spirit.

In the middle of my prayer, my heart became grieved — as if it were broken. I sobbed and wept and asked God to forgive us. We have turned away from Him- and it hurts His heart. I wrote down some things that the Holy Spirit interceded on behalf of:

We don’t pray. We only pray when we want something. We only pray for people we know, and not for people we don’t know. We only pray for government leaders when we fear how it might affect us. We don’t consult God, and ask Him for His wisdom. We consult ourselves. We rely on ourselves, and not God. We rely on our own counsel. We rely on our money. We rely on our relationships. We rely on our image to sustain us. We have forgotten about the covenant God made with us. A covenant is an agreement. He promised to make a people for Himself, and He has kept His word. You have been set apart as holy to the LORD your God, and he has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be his own special treasure. He is faithful to His covenant. We are unfaithful. We have given our hearts to things of the world. We cry out to Him only when we need Him. We blame Him for our problems. We mistreat Him. We don’t invest in relationship with Him. He deserves better than we offer Him. We don’t know Him like we could.

He’s the same God who sent His only Son to die for us.  He’s the same God who called Abraham His friend. He’s the same God who brought life from the dead womb of Sarah. He’s the same God who Moses relied on for miracles. He’s the same miracle-working God who David served. He’s the same God who defeats giants. He’s the same God who fights our battles – and gives us victory. He is the same now as He was before He laid the foundation of the earth.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

We are Gomer – the wife of Hosea, to Him. We prostitute our hearts before Him. We turn away from Him every chance we get. We cheat on Him with other gods, with things of the world.. We idolize people! We idolize money, and possessions. We covet the things that others possess. We put many things before Him. And then, we ask Him to help us. We don’t live for Him, but we look for His blessing. We ignore Him — until we need Him for something.

Imagine how we hurt the heart of God. Jesus endured the cross for us, and we still pain Him. We still pierce Him. We don’t even acknowledge God. We live our lives for us, not Him.  Father forgive us. Please Father, forgive us.

Holy Spirit, give us no more than we can bear – but burden our hearts so that we become a prayerful people. Do whatever needs to be done Father, to make us pray. We need revival Father. We need this. I want this for us, and for YOU. I want you to be loved by your people. I want Your heart to be filled with love from your people. ALL of your people — not one be left out. You are Love. All I have is my heart, and I give it to you. We are sinners who have fallen short. Take our hearts, and clean them up. Turn us into a people who pray.

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 chronicles 7:14

If you said it, I believe it. I believe 2 chronicles 7:14. Turn us into a people who prays with our families, and in private, and in public. You cannot lie, and if you could, you wouldn’t — because you are good and righteous.

Proverbs 8:8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.

Giving with intent

Hello blog readers, I’d like to take a moment to share something that I believe will bless your life.

The Holy Spirit spoke very specifically to my heart today about giving. There’s a particular kind of giving that we as believers should keep close to our heart. God wants our giving to have purpose.

When giving (specifically when tithing), be intentional. It shouldn’t be a ritualistic thing we do. If we aren’t careful, it’s easy to put something in the offering plate because that’s just what people do on Sunday. That is unintentional giving. The condition of the heart is what matters to God.

Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.

Our heartfelt intention to advance the gospel is what’s important. That’s why we sew into ministry work! We give out of obedience to God — to advance the gospel to people and communities nearby and around the world.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 2 Corinthians 9:12-13

We shouldn’t limit our giving to the local church we attend. God touched my heart today after I watched an online sermon (for the 3rd time because it blessed my spirit so much). Even though I’ve given my tithes, it would be selfish of me to indulge on this spiritual meal for days, and not sew into the ministry if I’m able to give. The goal is to advance the gospel. The goal is for the good news to reach the entire world. I’m so thankful He opened my heart to sew, so that others can continue to be blessed through the works of that ministry.

If the Holy Spirit convicts your heart about giving, be joyful. He’s preparing you to receive something much greater than you could ever give yourself! Pray for God to prepare your heart so that your giving is intentional according to God’s will. The enemy will attack you with feelings of financial doubt & worry (can I afford to give?), and immediate return (selfish motive) because the last things the devil wants to see are heavenly blessings poured into your life.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

** Also, giving extends beyond our tithes. The giving of your time is valuable to God. Giving God your time is very beneficial to you, and others. Your alone time with Him is when He pours into your spirit. He shares wisdom and love that deepens your relationship with Him. He expects us then, to share with others what He has shared with us. Alone time with God can be given in many ways. These are some ways I like to spend alone time with God:

  1. Prayer
  2. Reading His Word (and listening to the Audio Bible app)
  3. Reading scripture-based material (Right now I’m reading “Becoming a Prayer Warrior” by Elizabeth Alves)
  4. Listening to worship music, and singing to God (Pandora is good if you aren’t sure what song to play.. Pray for God to allow what you need to hear to play. It works! Type in a gospel artists name, and it will switch up the songs within the same genre)
  5. Watching online sermons (Some of my favorites are from Pastor Joanne Rosario Condrey, and Joseph Prince)
  6. Writing / journaling – I have a personal journal that I write ‘letters’ to God in (praises, petitions, emotions… I also look to Him every time I write a blog. When I write here, I consider it time spent for and with Him)
  7. Coloring! I have an adult coloring book called “Coloring the Psalms”. Coloring the detailed templates over a period of days is a good way to meditate on the scripture.

And, praying is an act of giving. We advance God’s Kingdom when we pray for others!

1Timothy 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people–for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

I pray that this blog has blessed you, and that we all be intentional givers who sew into God’s Kingdom!

In case you’re interested, this is the video I’ve watched several times this week that has blessed my spirit:

My Goodness!

Hello blog readers. I’d like to take some time to praise God for His goodness, and share what I’ve learned.

I spoke my heart to God, and He heard me. I thank Him for his ear, and His heart for me. He heard a sinner’s prayer. He heard me before I asked, and worked on my behalf. Who can do that, but God? What an awesome Father.

Isaiah 65:24 Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.

I am experiencing the answered prayers today that were petitioned years ago…some were even forgotten. I spoke my heart to God, and He remembered.

Psalm 105:8-9 He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

What I’ve learned is this: The answer to every prayer you or I could ever make is Jesus.

Pray for a relationship with Him. He will hear, and remember. He will answer you because He loves you.

James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

I thank my Savior for the salvation of my soul. He is my superhero. I thank the Lord for our growing relationship. I thank Him for choosing not to remember my sins. I thank Him for filling voids in my heart. I thank Him for transforming me, and giving me a new identity in Him. He changed my attitude. He gave me a new spirit, and a heart that loves to worship Him.

Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.

He gave me His name, and gave me permission to use it to fight spiritual battles. Hallelujah. His name is above all names — everything on earth and heaven must bow to His name — and He loved me enough to give me permission to use it. Who else can give us that kind of authority in their name? My Goodness! There is nothing He hasn’t provided for us!

Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.

What I’ve learned is this: Anything I set to accomplish in my own ability and strength will fail.

I can’t forgive apart from Him. My spirit can’t be strengthened apart from Him.  I can’t be set free from the sins that had me bound apart from Him. He is an awesome wonder-working God.

I can’t pray for my enemies apart from Him. I can’t be humble apart from Him. I can’t access my rightful heavenly inheritance while I’m on earth apart from Him. I can’t be anointed apart from Him. I can’t be holy apart from Him. I can’t make wise decisions apart from Him.

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Pray for a relationship with Him. He will hear, and remember. He will answer you because He loves you.

Time doesn’t heal all things. Jesus heals all things in time. A broken heart would never mend if there wasn’t a God who loves you. The enemy would never allow it to heal because his mission is to destroy you. It’s God alone who mends broken hearts.

Psalm 147:3  He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

psalm 34-17-18
