The real MVP

Hello blog readers! Yesterday, I took time to think and reflect on how good God has been to me. He is constantly molding and transforming my thoughts and heart. He’s always teaching. I love it. When we invest in a relationship with Him, every area of life improves.

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

I had to remind my son recently that the only thing free in life is our salvation. That’s it. No matter what your definition of earthly success is, you have to work for it. If you inherit it, you still have to invest in it to maintain it. Real growth will cost you 3 things: commitment, diligence, and sacrifice. Even though heaven is a free gift, the earthly benefits of receiving salvation will cost the same 3 things. Commitment, diligence, and sacrifice. Try binding the enemy, and healing in the name of Jesus WITHOUT committing your heart to Him, and living with Him as your Lord. The power isn’t in the words “in the name of Jesus”… The power is Jesus.

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Commitment, diligence, and sacrifice. Those 3 things offer both physical and spiritual benefits.

Spiritually, when we commit to living under the Lordship of Jesus, remain in him, and sacrifice the things of the world for the things of God, AMAZING things happen. Our heart and mind becomes transformed. Child of God, you become the person God sees when He created you — and you ARE beautiful.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

We live in a fallen world — and, it is challenging sometimes to focus on spiritual growth when there is lacking in the physical. In the Bible, Jesus often times would satisfy a person’s physical need first. He wants all of our physical needs to be met. He healed and blessed people without hesitation, and that drew them in so their hearts and souls could be touched.  Once your heart is touched by Jesus, and you open up to Him, the holy spirit teaches you how to apply scripture and ‘have life to the full’.

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

When Jesus came and died for us it cost him at least 3 things: Commitment, diligence, and sacrifice. He had to commit to saving us. He had to be diligent through all of Satan’s attempts to  cause him to fail. He sacrificed spending his time in a perfect heaven, to come to a fallen world and become a living sacrifice for the sins of man. He’s more than your best friend. He’s your Savior. And when we allow him, he aligns our hearts with his, through power of the holy spirit — transforming our cold, selfish, stubborn hearts into hearts that love, give freely, and recognize the gift we have in Him.

Hebrews 12:2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Jesus is the real MVP. The real Champ. The Greatest of all time.
