Be Living Logos
Hello blog readers. This blog article is for me, and hopefully will also encourage you. I woke up a few nights ago in the middle of the night thinking about the word “logo”. It seemed random at first. As I drifted back off to sleep, I heard the Holy Spirit ask, “Who do you represent?”
Every one of us represents something, whether we intend to or not. The way I act, talk, react, and even think represents who I am. My life is a brand, and so is yours. And, if I have surrendered my life to Jesus, that brand should represent Him.
brand: a particular identity or image regarded as an asset
1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Meditate for a moment on how wonderful that scripture is.
chosen: having been selected as the best or most appropriate
As children of God, we’ve been given an identity in Christ Jesus– and we are God’s special possession. You and I are His special chosen possession! 🙂 Do you know how privileged that makes us?!!
Ephesians 1:5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will
He decided a long time ago (predestined) that He wanted us to be His sons and daughters. That is His will, and it brings Him pleasure. What a blessing to be wanted and loved by the Most High!! He chose you. As His children, by default, we become ‘living logos’ for the Lord. Let us represent Him well.
2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
In the the way I love, forgive, respond to, tolerate, disciple, and engage others, I want to represent Him well. I don’t always get it right. I write these things to encourage myself because I need help with some of them.. all of them. Truthfully, it’s something I will need help with for the rest of my life. And, I’m grateful that He reminded me that my identity is important to Him — because I belong to Him.
1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
